300 SL, a dream
There are probably only a handful of cars that are immediately recognized as dream cars all over the world. The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL is certainly one of them.
A dream always remains a dream
Its history is legendary – born from motorsport, grown into a myth. As early as 1952, the 300 SL racing car caused a sensation: a double victory at the legendary Carrera Panamericana in Mexico, podium finishes at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and successes at the Nürburgring made it an icon. Technology that came directly from the racetrack, packaged in a form that still gives goosebumps today.
No wonder then that even celebrities couldn’t resist the charm of the 300 SL. Hollywood star Clark Gable drove one, as did Tony Curtis, and even Sophia Loren had herself photographed with the sports car. The 300 SL was never just a car – it was a statement. Goetz Wagner also dreamed of exactly this car. In 1994, the dream became reality: a red 300 SL convertible was for sale. Even then it was no bargain – but Wagner didn’t hesitate and bought it. A decision for life. Because this car didn’t become part of a silent collection, but part of his everyday life.
For over 30 years, the 300 SL has been regularly on the road with Goetz Wagner. In the past, even on dirt roads on the farm, today still the morning drive to go shopping or simply a spontaneous spin after a long day – it’s driven as it wants to be driven. Exactly as an automobile is intended. The engine, essentially a racing engine, loves high revs, and the distinctive sound from the exhaust pipes, once heard, remains unforgettable forever. This car lives. No standing damage, no fear of contact – just movement. This keeps the dream alive. We wish you: happy motoring at all times!
