Igor Panitz – always in search of that special light
Igor Panitz isn’t someone who settles for “good enough.” Since his beginnings in 1990 in his own studio in Echterdingen, everything for him has revolved around light, mood and the right feeling in the image. Back then, he was still working in a classic style with stills and people for the
mid-sized business sector—clean, clear, reliable. But even then: an eye for the extraordinary.
The big shift comes in 2005, when he moves into automotive photography. Suddenly, international brands are on the list—Acura, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche and many more. Campaigns, launches, calendar productions: Panitz doesn’t just photograph cars, he stages them like characters in a film.
Always with a strong connection to the location, mostly urban,
often raw, always precise with the light.

Photogravures – images with exceptional tonal depth and high detail precision
In 2009, he founded the Traffic Studio in Filderstadt. From here, projects are created all over the world—London, New York, Turin, Spain. And yet his focus remains remarkably consistent: perfect light, the right moment, the tension between technology and emotion.
Since 2023, Panitz has been opening a new chapter. Away from purely commercial commissions and towards independent artistic work. Analogue, black and white, reduced. And with a special penchant for photogravure—an almost forgotten printing process that gives his images a soft, velvety depth.
